Inkjet & wide format printing for bitmap displays and posters.

Wide format printers print width's between 17” and 100”. They are used to print banners and posters. However, inkjet printers aren't used for this and this is because they can’t produce large pieces of print. Wide format printers are good for printing posters because of it's high quality and it's ability to tell the difference between text and images. These two kinds of printers use a roll of print rather than using individual sheets and are known for their high speed because they are able to print at high speed while printing out good quality graphics. They are usually used for outdoor graphics like buildings and billboards because most things can be washed off without ruining the graphics on the poster. 

Vinyl cutters and laser cutters for signage.

Vinyl cutters are usually used for advertising on the side of vans. Laser cutters are used in small businesses and in most schools. Laser cutters can be expensive but not as expensive as vinyl cutters. Developments on laser and vinyl cutters are things such as smoother graphics and this means that companies can have better advertising designs to put on their vehicles. On the other hand, a problem with printing out vinyls this big is that the picture or the graphics that you are printing out would have to be high resolution so they're a good enough quality when they are put onto a van.

3D Printing

3D printing has been a huge success because they help us to do things a lot quicker and at a better quality. 3D printers allow us to fully print 3D graphics at high speed meaning people can easily print almost anything that they want as long as they have the design for it. Manual prototyping is no longer needed because of 3D printing so it's now easier and a lot quicker for companies to make products. To be able to print in 3D it's necessary to have some kind of 3D software such as Cimatron because without it, it's not possible to create the graphics that you want to be printed out.

Laser printers for leaflets and flyers.

Laser printing allows high-speed printing and are usually light weight and compact so they don’t take up a lot of space. Laser printing allows high quality text and graphics to be printed on paper. even though laser printers have many advantages they can be expensive because the ink will need replaced regularly. When the documents/graphics are printing out, they can still be wet sometimes and this means that there is a risk of the document/graphic getting smudged by accident.
